On Tuesday 10 January 2023, the City of Luxembourg, represented by Mrs. Lydie Polfer, Mayor, Mr. Maurice Bauer, Mr. Patrick Goldschmidt and Mr. Laurent Mosar, Aldermen, in the presence of the Honorary Consul of Ukraine, Mr. Claude Radoux, donated 19 generators providing a total of 630 kVA to the City of Kyiv, which will then take care of the dispatching of the machines to the places where they are most needed. With this gesture, the City of Luxembourg wishes to encourage the Ukrainian people in these difficult times by helping to alleviate the serious energy situation in Ukraine. Upon their arrival in Ukraine, the generators will help to ensure the proper functioning of critical infrastructures such as hospitals where the supply of electricity has been compromised by the Russian attacks.
